I've been looking at some receipes to come up with a DIY version of that famouse onion soup mix so many recipes call for. The receipe below is one I came up with based on about 6 other receipes others had created. Of course we are going into roast season, so we will be using plenty of this at our house. Best part of this recipe...it's only a few ingredients and they are likely all in your stockpile already, so it'll save you the expense of buying soup mix the next time you need it.
3/4 cup onion flakes
1 tsp garlic powder (not salt)
1/4 tsp crushed celery seed
4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp seasoned pepper
1/3 bullion powder (or you can crush cubes)
5 Tbsp is the same as 1 packet, store in airtight container between uses.
