Bartholomew and the Oobleck project

I love projects that get my kids learning at the same time. Here is another DIY project that you can tie into a learning activity. This is a great recipe to print and stash into your "im board" box of tricks.

Step 1 - Go to the local library and check out the book named Bartholomew and the Oobleck. If you are fearful of remembering to bring the book back, this book is fairly short so find a cozy corner and do some storytime at the library reading it before you leave. The book is short enough you can do it and not have to worry about bringing it home.
Step 2 - Put the kids into "play clothes". This stuff can get messy!
Step 3 - The fun starts here...mix all of the ingredients and let the kids dig in. The mixture will change betweem a liquid and solid when handled. Call this stuff Oobleck like the book you just read.
  • Oobleck recipe
    • 1 part water
    • 2 parts corn starch
    • Green food Coloring (Optional)
Thanks Chasing Tiny Feet for the info, recipe and pic!
