DIY Keepsake boxes

If you have kids, you probably have a stash of their keepsakes somewhere. Why not make them even more special by making your own keepsake box. You can buy either a paper size or photo size box (I have both, one for projects and the other for artwork) is basic white. Then use permanent markers to decorate them, or if your kids are older you could even have them do it. You can make the boxes as plain or intricate as you wish. By having the boxes personalized, you always make sure the right project goes in the right box (if you have more than one kid). Of course this project could also be used for memorable events such as 16th birthday, weddings, communion etc, just about anything you have keepsakes for that you would want to preserve. The boxes can typically be found at craft stores such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or JoAnn Crafts (who typically has a weekly coupon for 40% off). Recently there was a coupon for Bic markers at on their Facebook page, if you grabbed the multicolor pack, these work great for this project.

Thanks Bic for the inspiration and pic!
