DIY frozen banannas

Why pay $5 bucks a pop for a frozen banana treat, instead, do it yourself at home. This is a great recipe you can do with the kids. Shhh, don't tell them they are eating a desert that is good for them...

Here is what you need:
  • bananas (slightly firm ones work best)
  • popsicle sticks
  • chocolate chips
  • sprinkles and/or nuts.
What to do:
  • Using a double boiler, melt the chocolate. Once chocolate is melted you can turn the burner off but leave the chocolate over the heat of the water.
  • Cut bananas in half and insert a popsicle stick into it
  • Hold the banana over the chocolate and spoon the chocolate on top. Rotate to make sure you get all sides.
  • Roll the chocolate covered bananna into your desired topping. Sprinkles and nuts work well.
  • Place on a cookie sheet, cover with plastic wrap and freeze.
