Sprinkle sugar cookies for the non-baker

If you love baked goods and want to make some of your own but lack the talent to make those prize winning cookies, alas this recipe is for you. All you need is a cookie sheet, some parchement paper, pre-made sugar cookie dough, some small round cookie sprinkles (nonpareil type work well, pick a color that works for the occasion) and a cooling rack. These are great cookie to make and take to a cookie exchange, hint hint...

Here are the simple steps for these fun cookies:
  1. Preheat oven to temp shown on cookie package
  2. Line baking sheet with parchement paper
  3. Take a teaspoon size ball of cookie dough and roll it into a round shape
  4. Take the cookie dough ball and cover (roll) in sprinkles, then place on cookie sheet
  5. Make sure cookies are a few inches apart to allow room for them to spread when baking.
  6. Bake according to package instructions (usually ~10 minutes per batch)
  7. Allow to cool on pan for ~2 minutes, then slide parchment paper with cookies on top over to cooling rack.
  8. Once cookies are cool, they will firm up. You can at that point slide them off the paper and into a container for storage. Tip - Add a slice of bread to the container to help keep the cookies soft.
