When budgets get tight, people tend to cut protein out of their diet. But beware, chronic lack of protein in a diet can create a problem. So with the holidays approaching and people trying to find a bit more "wiggle room" in their budget, I just wanted to send out a reminder that beans are a great source of protein. Dried beans are an especially cheap item to add to your grocery list. Now, when working with beans, the least expensive route is to use the dried type, but that means planning ahead for prep time.
