DIY - Season Salt

Did you know you can make your own season salt? The reason it could be well worth the trouble is that you can do two things. First you can decrease the sodium content (because lets face it, most of us eat too much salt anyway), and second you can add a bit extra of the spices you enjoy. Low sodium mixes are always a bit more expensive, so making your own will likely save you a few bucks. We enjoy season salt on lots of different foods, so I find it nice to always have on hand. Finding Joy in My Kitchen has come up with a base recipe that I thought you would like, although there are several out there, so here it is.

Mix the following ingrdients together and store in an airtight container. Empty spice contaners work well because they already have the cover with the holes making it easier to sprinkle on foods.

3 tsp. ground sea salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. corn starch
