Choose quality over quanity

How much of your budget goes for alcohol? If you consume 2 beers a few days a week that can quickly add up. If a 12 pack of beer cost you $16 and you drink 4 beers a week that means you spent $5.33 a week on just beer. Of course this does not include the additional alcohol you have purchased to share and/or special occasions. If you multiply your beer expenses for a year, you have spent $277.33. Consider reserving alcohol for only special occasions and cutting that $5.33 a week off your grocery budget. When you do choose to purchase alcohol, consider buying a decent quality wine instead. Friends tend to stop at one or two glasses making the consumption less when sharing. You've cut enough off your budget throughout the year to be able to spend a bit more on a quality wine for special occasions, you deserve it. What a great way to toast an anniversary, birthday or New Years Eve celebration.
