Cheap and easy Halloween punch

If you are hosting a party or PTO party, this is a budget friend recipe packed full of fun. You will need to start the prep stages of this receipe the night before to ensure you have time for your ice cubes to freeze.

What you need -
  • Pkg of grape drink mix (powdered w/o sugar)
  • Pkg of orange drink mix (powdered w/o sugar)
  • 1 L Ginger ale
  • 2 C sugar
  • 3 Qt water
  • Gummy worms and/or bugs
Mix up all ingredients except ginger ale. Take a cup or so of the liquid to fill up an ice cube tray or two, then poke the gummy worms/bugs into the liquid and freeze. Store punch mixture in fridge until ready to serve.
When you are ready to serve the punch, simply pour the mixture into your punch bowl (a plastic black cauldron works best) with the ginger ale and add in ice cubes. By making the ice cubes out of the same mixture as the punch, you drinks will not get watered down as they melt. by having the fun gummy worms/bugs in the cubes it will add a Halloween "effect" to your punch bowl, as you will see the worms and bugs floating on top until the ice is mostly melted. The cubes will be dark in color, so you may not see them at first, but don't be alarmed, they will eventually show.
