Paint your room

If you are considering a change of design for any room in your home, keep in mind that the least expensive item that can make a BIG impact is paint. Consider simply painting the walls a different color and rearranging your current furniture for a budget friendly design re-do. Want an even bigger change, then consider re purposing your furniture from another room (such as using a dresser as a sofa table) and getting a few new accessories for the room such as throw pillows.
