Grab these before their gone!

I ran into Office Depot this week for some printer stuff and while I was there I checked out all of their closeout racks. Just like many other retailers, they are starting to markdown seasonal school supply items. The one item that seemed to be the best deal was the backpack/lunchbox combo pack pictured here. It came in a couple colors and was marked down to only $1.71! This is such a good deal, I originally thought I read the sign wrong...but after checking again, I was assured it read correctly. Admittedly this is not a fancy backpack, but it will definitely do the job and at this price its worth grabbing an extra one or two to donate. Office Depot also had a basket and a few racks full of some nicer backpacks and bags that ranged from $3 up to $20 depending on the style and brand you are looking for.

Here are a few tips to help you save even more when you visit:

1. Sign up for their rewards card. The rewards are issued quarterly but every week they have special sales just for rewards members. This week I was able to grab 2 cases of water and a stapler that I needed, knowing that they were a 100% reward item...so they will end up being FREE!
2. Office Depot honors competitors coupons, and this includes printables too.  www.retailmenot.com seems to be a site where I can consistently find one to use.
3. Office Depot takes manufacture coupons, so don't be afraid to use them.
4. Check out the closeout racks. You just never know what you will find.
5. If you can't find a sale item, just ask. I have had store clerks search for items many times and they are always willing to help. They are some of the friendliest store clerks I've ever met (can you believe that I said that about a store clerk? Yup, I did).
