Buying exercise equipment

You can easily buy barely used exercise equipment for deep discounts at the end of summer...so why pay full price? January-May is peak time for retail sale of exercise equipment, but often people loose their enthusiasm and their equipment then becomes a clothes hanger after only a few months. Keep your eyes open at garage sales, Craig's list, newspaper ads etc to grab some barely used equipment for yourself. Choose a spot in your house that is in the way to put your new equipment, and will be forced to remember to use it. Bedrooms and basements are not the best places to "hide" these items because they simply are too far out of site. Consider locating you equipment in your family room where you can use it while your favorite TV show is on, or while the kids play. This will leave you with no excuses to stop exercising when the weather turns cold for the winter, if you can't afford a gym membership, or the extra expense of the fuel to get there.
