DIY nut and bolt organizer

Fill this jar organizer with nuts, bolts and washers for easy access. This organizer also works well in your sewing room for buttons, eyelets etc.

What you need:
  • A finished board or shelf. How long depends on how many jars you plan to attach.
  • Baby food jars. Although you can use all three sizes, using one size per board/shelf works best. That way the lid threads stay uniform and you don't have to remember which one goes where.
  • Pan head screws. Keep in mind that they need to be long enough to go through the lid and into the shelf, but not THOUGH the shelf. 1/2" tends to work well.
  • Ruler to determine even spacing.
How to do it:
  • Determing spacing of jars.
    • Measure width of each jar
    • Allow a 2 inch space between jars for fingers.
  • Using lids and ruler, mark placement for jars on board/shelf.
  • Using 2 pan head screws, screw the lids onto the board/shelf.
  • Mount board/shelf to wherever you wish it to be located. Jars will hand down from the board/shelf.
  • Fill jars and enjoy.
