Travel tip #3 - travel sized

Buying travel sized items almost seems as expensive as the fill sized ones, doesn't it. Buying travel sized isn't just for air travelers, car space can be at a premium as well. Consider these two options...
  • Option #1 - use containers you already have to put some of your full sized item into. If you are flying, make sure that the containers are less than 100ml (3.4oz) each. If it is a product you use a lot of, simply pack two small containers of the same thing, but do NOT pack a larger container and expect to put it in your carry on baggage. Here is an example of one I have done - with each new box of Pixos my kids open, it comes with an empty spray bottle for water. Of course you only need one bottle for the Pixos, so I take the new bottles and fill them with things like tangle spray, body spray etc. Just make sure you label them, I find that using a fine tip permanent marker and covering it with a piece of tape works fine. The bottles are under 100ml and don't cost me a cent extra.
  • Option #2 - Use you coupons to buy travel sized items. Many manufactures don't specify sizes on their coupons, so this is your chance to get your travel sized items for just a few cents. Of course not all of what you need will have a coupon between now and when you leave, so you might have to purchase some at full price to complete the set.
