Orange Cream Mousse

If you've been hitting the coupon specials lately like I have, you have an excess of jello and cool whip on hand. When this sorta thing happens, I go looking for a recipe that calls for more than one package. I found this recipe and it was so good that I thought it was worth sharing.

Orange Cream Mousse
8oz box of orange powdered jello
16oz tub of cool whip
2 cans Mandarin oranges, drained (optional)

Add 2 3/4 cup boiling hot water to powdered jello, stir until dissolved. Using whisk or handheld blender mix in both tubs of cool whip. Pour mix into container, then sprinkle oranges over the top of mixture. Chill for at least 3 hours before serving.

Of course this desert can be made in a reduced calorie form by using sugar free jello and cool whip. Don't be afraid to switch it up and try different flavors such as lemon and strawberry.
