Buying fruit and veggies in season

One of the ways you can significantly cut your grocery bills is buy purchasing fresh produce when it is in season. My hubby ran to the store for me the other day and got a huge bag of uber red grapefruit for only $3! What a great opportunity to make baked grapefruit (recipe below).

Here is a website that shows the Harvest Calendar - http://www.sdfarmbureau.org/BuyLocal/Harvest-Calendar.php

Baked Grapefruit
Take a ruby red grapefruit and slice in half so that middles looks like a starburst.
Take a knift/grapefruit spoon and loosen each section, this makes it easier eat after baking.
Put grapefruit halves onto a pan with sides such as a cookie sheet.
Top each grapefruit with 1 Tsp butter, 1 Tbsp brown sugar and 1 Tsp cooking wine (alcohol will bake out). You will end up with a large blog of butter/sugar on top, this will disolve into the grapefruit while baking.
Bake uncovered for ~15 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm.
