Not a Sam's Club memer...this event is for you! One of the reccomendations I make to save money is to buy your produce at a local wholesaler location such as Sam's club or Costco because they tend to have great quality at a reasonable price. Right now they are allowing non-members to purchase a 10 week membership to their store for just $10.
This promo membership opportunity ends June 5th, so hurry in. Click here for more details.
Here are some items that you need to check out while you are there to determine if the savings are enough to justify a larger membership for your family. I list these because they tend NOT to have coupons and I have found them to be great buys for my family. Of course each stores pricing is slightly different, so you need to judge for yourself.
- Fresh produce (fruit, veggies, salad mix etc)
- Milk (ours runs ~$1 less than the store)
- Frozen fish (we LOVE the blakened salmon, much cheaper than eating it out)
- Bakery items such as birthday cakes
- Over the counter medications
- Printer ink
- Trash bags
Here are some items that tend to cost MORE than what I would pay at the regular store with coupons. Keep in mind this may vary depending on how fast you use items, because lets face it, if you buy a gallon of something for less money but then throw 1/2 of it out...did you really save anything. Of course buying in bulk means you tend to make fewer trips to the store, so you have to weigh the savings, volume etc vs the cost of gas on these.
- Laundry detergent
- General cleaning items
- Canned fruits and veggies
- Pasta
- Lunchmeat
- Movies and electronic games
- Non-milk dairy such as yogurt, sour cream etc
- Sanitary items
Thanks Pink Coupon Cafe for the tip!
